Business Owners Fight Back with BusinessBeware.biz

Hey all!  We received this testimonial the other day from Jackie in Nashville, TN and wanted to share it!

“After I joined Business Beware, I started using the site to search and post about customers I have delt with in the past and here recently. When I sent out late notices and received notes back with excuses for why they (the customer) were not going to pay, I kindly wrote them back but also said there is a site where we can let others know about non-paying customers…They quickly sent a check that following week! Use this site to your advantage and maybe the customer will cooperate with you! Thank you for this great tool that has been made available for business owners!”

Privacy Issues with Websites on Google

Many people have issues with websites that store information about businesses and customers, which they have a right to be.  If a business types in their name on Google and it comes up with reviews from websites like those from RipoffReport.com where they place the business name on Google, that can cause some problems.  No business wants to find their name tagged to a report with big bold letters saying how terrible it is even before their website listing on the search engines.

I don’t agree with placing people’s info or business information on search engines if you have a site that you can file complaints on.  On Business Beware, yes, you can file complaints against customers but the information that is filed is NOT shared or sent out on search engines.  Only a person who registers can see the information stored in the database, we do not distribute the information about customers or the business information.

I know that topic is an issue with many people as it is with businesses, but I can honestly say we set ourselves apart from that.  Yes, your name may be filed in our database by a business, but you do not have to worry about it carrying through search engines like Google.  Even though our service is to file complaints against consumers, we do not agree with blasting information all over the place against someone.

Hope this gives you a better idea about Business Beware and our policy.

Some Say You Should not Post on Forums or Sites like Business Beware…

February 23, 2009 businessbeware 1 comment

I read some of the follow-ups that analysts or media bloggers wrote about sites like Business Beware or even ones that were written about us at Business Beware.  Some say that it may be shut down over time because of legal issues and so on, but you know there are just as many sites as ours out there for everything you can think of where you can post things or say what you want.  When you blog, you may write about a topic you agree/disagree with and offend others as you write it.  But we are all entitled to freedom of speech.  Now I am not saying that you should say whatever you just honestly feel like saying and belittle others in your writing or posts, I don’t agree with that and that is not what Business Beware is about.

Customers cannot get mad if their name is posted on the site, especially if there name is on there a few times by different contractors, that should only tell that customer to back off on how they treat the business and/or contractor.  It’s not fair to have five or more sites for customers to complain about a business and the business not have a outlet to use for themselves.  Of course consumers and analysts who are on the consumers side are going to be against it and hope that it goes down or do what they can to make it go down but you have to remember that not everyone knows what it’s like to be a business owner or contractor.

Customers can make or break your business, you definitely have to have good customer service or you just won’t have any customers.  But those that you bend over backwards for and do everything in your power to please, then they still complain and rip you off, that’s just not fair to the business.  Most businesses try to do the best we can (yes there are some that lack customer service and are unlicensed) to please customers, but sometimes there is just no way you can please them.

What I’m getting at is that there is nothing wrong with filing complaints against a customer when a customer can file complaints against a business or contractor, it’s a two way street as anything is.  I know people will argue with that but that is just stating the true facts.
