One New Year's Eve-Day, I went to Party City to pick up some extra supplies.. as I was contemplating if I should get gold streamers or silver streamers, a lady came up to me, and demanded I help her get something high off the shelf. I looked at her.. glared my eyes, and calmly said, "Ok I'll be right with you." She stood there waiting for me as I made my decision to just get both colors... then she asked if I was going to follow her. I said once more, "Just one moment m'am and I'll be right with you." She followed me to where I was going (checkout actually) and stood in line. While waiting in line she got frustrated and yelled at me, "ARE YOU GOING TO HELP ME?!" while I turn around at her and give her the evil eye.. and say, "In a moment I will help you. If you need immediate assistance, I suggest you ask someone that works here."

With a surprised face, she looks at me, searches for the non-existent nametag, and proceeds to find a manager to complain about me. The manager told me that she claims that one of their employees took their name badge off and is refusing her service. LMAO.

I proceeded to purchase my items and leave the store, only to have her follow me out the store screaming obscenities at me, at which point I don't have to tolerate anymore. A nice key-job on her brand new Lexus shall teach her a lesson to learn how to read.

I was commenting on the post I read on another site (I was not saying that myself about the food) Also you're right the customer is not always wrong but the are not always right either... Our site Business Beware (NotAlwaysRight.com is a friends site) helps put trust back between the customer and business, its an outlet for businesses, not dissing a customer.... Thanks for the comment though!

I get this almost EVERY night...and I work here! I am a 3rd shift stocker, with store uniform, NameTag (larger than life) and an arm full of products, fighting with the small keys to unlock the locked cases so I can unload my armload of products and lock the case up again. Have even noticed that several will wait, watch me struggling and once I head back to refill my arms with more stock, that is when they hit me with "DO you work in this department?"....or they will ask "WHO works in this dept."

Great Read! - I'm just starting up my own business and I look forward to having to clean the washrooms if thats what i have to do to get where I want to be. It's a rush for me to know that for the most part I have control over whether or not I succeed or fail in this venture. It's going to be a wild ride and I look forward to making mistakes and learning from them and developing myself and my company. This article is something all entrepreneurs should read - I'm sure they'd agree with your words.

This article is pretty accurate based on what we have observed over the years from many of our competitors. In addition from Angies list, kudzu and yelp are also excellent sources to view a companies trackrecord. Also, do not pay for the job ahead of time to ensure you don't get burned!

I have a friend that went through the same thing and is now doing well in a media company in NY. He had a very difficult time finding a full time job after college. There were lots of interviews but no hire. What he did was work part time somewhere while he interned in the field he wanted to be in. After the internship he was able to get his foot in the door and land a good job.

You can also try temp to hire positions. It's alot easier to get these type of jobs because the person hiring you doesn't feel as pressured to make a decision as it is only temp in the beginning. At the same time, you get your foot in the door and if you make a good enough impression, you will be hired full time.

Oh yes, the Catch 22 dilemma. Your best bet in that situation is to know someone who knows people inside the organization. Try networking with your family and friends to find a common connection to the company. Chances are better than you think. Someone may say I don’t know anybody in that company but I know someone in this company.

Yeah, it's an absolute bummer. My advice is do anything and everything you can, even if it's basic. Everything you do along the way, prepares you for what is to come.
